This is a false aralia and actually related to Schefflera, they are easy to care for and make great house plants.

Light: Bright
Prefers bright, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight. Can lose leaves if watered in moderate light.

Water: Moderate
Likes to dry out 2in down in between watering. Roughly every 10-14 days. Overwatering can cause leaf drop. 

Soil Type: Prefers well draining, rich potting mix with lots of perlite.

Toxicity Level: Toxic to animals 

Additional Information: Leaf dropping can be a sign of overwatering
